1. Where can I find any information about international nursery/kindergartens and/or primaryschools?

2. I have a pet and I would like to bring it with me. How can I do that?

You can bring your pet according to all international procedures required to bring an animal over international border. Your pet needs European passport for animals, with all vaccination proofs.


3. What about costs of living? How high are they?

The everage prices are:

  • Bread- around 1 – 2,50eur per kg
  • Milk- around  0,50
  • Pasta- around 1,50 – 2 eur
  • Water- around 0,50 eur per liter
  • Coffe in a restaurant- around 1,20 – 2 eur
  • Gass –  1,05 eur – 1,65 eur


4. How much is rent for an appartement?

The rent varies acording of a location, square meters…. In Ljubljana a 1bedroom apartement (around 40m2) is 350 – 450 eur + exspenses per month. 30 km out of Ljubljana it is from 200 – 250 eur + exspenses per month. Expenses are between 100-200eur per month (water, heating, telephone, TV,…)

5. I have a partner but we are not married. How can she/he come to Slovenia with me?

For all non EU citizens that is not possible, your partner can come only with turist visa for the time of velidity of the visa. The only way is, if a competence Ministry gives a written permission for residence permit for your partner for the time of your research.
Far citizens of EU – your partner can apply for temporary residence permit at Upravna enota, Oddelek za tujce (Departement for forigners). Your partner needs proof of sufficient means for living and European card for health insurance. You can read Aliens acct, Article 93-g

6. I will come by my own car. What are regulations and procedures for  importing a car?
