OFFER DESCRIPTION

Communication networks have become a critical infrastructure of our digital society. Given the resulting stringent requirements on the dependability, continuous monitoring needs to become an essential part of the operation of such networks. Rigorous monitoring can help detect security issues, misconfigurations, equipment failure, or even performance issues. Given the increasing size of communication networks, scalable and efficient solutions are becoming particularly important.
Against this backdrop, we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with an excellent research and publication record in the area of network monitoring, telemetry and analysis. We are particularly interested in emerging software-defined and (function) virtualized networks, as they arise, e.g., in datacenters, as well as in the design of more autonomous and “self-driving” networks, which adjust, optimize and repair themselves independently from a human operator. The applicant should be expert on these emerging technologies and have publications in the area of software-defined networks in particular and at technical conferences by ACM, USENIX and IEEE in general.
