The Barcelona Institute for Global Health, ISGlobal, is the fruit of an innovative alliance between academic, government, and philanthropic institutions to contribute to the efforts undertaken by the international community to address the challenges in global health.
ISGlobal is currently coordinating the InSPIRES which is receiving funds from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No
741677 (SwafS-2016-17). The main goal of this 4-year project is to build effective cooperation between science and society by supporting the growth of Science Shops and enabling the expansion of responsible participatory research and innovation in Europe and abroad, in order to tackle key societal challenges that affect the world population. In this context, the ISGlobal team has developed an online platform which is, on the one hand, a database of bottom-up demand driven collaborative research projects, facilitated by Science Shops, or other similar structures, and on the other, it provides an intuitive and automatized Impact Evaluation tool to capture process and result outcomes in a harmonized manner.
What We Are Looking for:
ISGlobal is looking for an app & web developer in order to realize the maintenance tasks, including improvement of the platform according to consortium members feedback and external experts.
Main duties and tasks:
- Maintenance of the InSPIRES platform
- Develop and expand computer systems that deal with highly-relational data.
- Oversee and complete the deployment of a complete end to end solution from requirements to final server deployment
- Duration:6 months
- Starting date: 9th November 2020
- Contract: Part time
During the crisis caused by COVID19, standard working conditions will be adapted to sanitary requirements.

- Experience with Front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JS
- Deep knowledge Vue and Vue frameworks for creating web applications
- Experience designing and maintaining relational databases and SQL queries
- Knowledge with the Python backend stack
- Experience with developing API backends with the Django framework
- Demonstrable expertise designing and implementing data visualization processes
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
