"EURAXESS Service Dimensioning Kit" Workshop

EURAXESS Bridgehead organisation CMEPIUS is organising a EURAXESS Service Dimensioning Kit workshop. EURAXESS Service Dimensioning Kit is a tool based on Ansoff Matrix and adapted to analyse and develop services offered in the EURAXESS network. Tool can be used in any situation where services are offered.

Workshop will be held by John Baarli (The Research Council of Norway), one of the authors of the tool.

Workshop will take place on May 29th 2018 at the University of Ljubljana Rectorate – Kongresni trg 12, Ljubljana, Soba rektorjev (Rectors’ room). Workshop will start at 9:00 and end at 17:00.

Participation at the workshop is free of charge.

Number of participants is limited, active members of the EURAXESS network will be given priority.

Workshop will be held in English language.

Agenda for the EURAXESS online dimensioning toolkit workshop (draft)

 

The goal of this workshop is to learn more about service design and how to use the EURAXESS Service Dimensioning toolkit. It is an immersive workshop where all the participants will be involved in solving real issues and learn to use the toolkit with emphasis on service design and design thinking to work smarter, enhance the quality of the services and work more efficiently.

9:00 – 10:15: Overview of the tool (1,25 hours)

  1. General presentation of the tool in a Service Design context based on the finding in Task 8.1 EURAXESS TOP III
  2. Presentation of the tools strategic choices and why they are important to reflect on either as a EURAXESS Service Centre, a EURAXESS contact point or as a person providing EURAXESS Services.
  3. Presentation of the online part of the tool to get an in depth understanding of what it is and how it can be used.
  4. Introduction to the last part of the tool: the service design analysis within the four strategic choices when moving forward.
    1. Introduction to core concepts regarding a user's journey
      1. The prototypical user (introduction the a persona) and the target group concept explained in a service design context
      2. When the user journey starts and when it ends
    2. Introduction to core concepts within Service Design
      1. The service lifecycle framework explained and discussed
      2. The concept of touchpoints explained and discussed
      3. The different actors to take into consideration when doing service design
    3. Look at a service design analysis example and why it works

10.15 – 10.30 Coffee break

10:30– 11:30: Workshop on using the tool part 1: Service penetration and enhancement (1 hour)

  1. An in-depth service design analysis will be done for the researchers' journey from before they are using EURAXESS services to after they have used EURAXESS services.

11:30 – 12:30: Workshop on using the tool part 2: Service development (1 hour)

12:30 – 13:30: Lunch

13:30 – 14:30: Workshop on using the tool part 3: Sector development (1 hour)

14:30 – 15:30: Workshop on using the tool part 4: Diversification of services (1 hour)

15:30 – 15:45 Coffee break

15.45 – 16:45: The Service design blue print (45 minutes)

16.45 – 17:00: Summary of the day
