On November 4, national Consular Consultation was held at Brdo pri Kranju. The purpose of the consultation was to continue the discussions between stakeholders involved in the procedures for obtaining residence permits and work permits for researchers and students, with the aim of achieving easier and faster procedures.
Aleš Oven (University of Primorska as chairing the Rectors' Conference) presented the current cooperation between universities with state consular representations and administrative units, as well as key challenges in obtaining residence permits and visas for incoming international students and researchers. In response, the consuls presented examples of good practices and the most common complications, such as the lack of information in applications and the candidates' insufficient knowledge of the English language. The event contributed to connecting and improved mutual understanding between stakeholders in the process, thus successfully laying the foundations for removing obstacles and establishing faster and friendlier procedures.
