Offer Description
Constanța Maritime University announces the organization of a competition for filling 4 (four) temporarily vacant positions of Postdoctoral Researcher, within the PNRR project MAREHC – “Maximizing the Renewable Energy Hosting Capacity of distribution networks”.
Project Objective – MAREHC
The PNRR MAREHC project aims to increase the innovation capacity of the Romanian research, development, and innovation (RDI) system by attracting highly specialized human resources from abroad, around whom centers of research excellence will be formed.
The general objective of the PNRR project – Maximizing the Renewable Energy Hosting Capacity of distribution networks – is to support the national RDI system by attracting high-level specialists from abroad, who will lead and develop research excellence groups in cutting-edge scientific fields, thereby contributing to the goals outlined in the National Strategy for Research, Innovation, and Smart Specialization.
Specific Objectives:
- Developing and promoting fundamental scientific research in Romania;
- Building competent human resources and forming research excellence groups;
- Enhancing institutional capacity to absorb European funds;
- Stimulating international institutional partnerships;
- Increasing the number of internationally impactful publications and patents;
- Supporting and developing competitive research teams on an international level;
- Actively involving PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in pursuing excellence in scientific research in Romania;
- Encouraging participation of researchers in Horizon Europe framework program competitions.
Estimated Results:
- Assessment of energy consumption profiles for energy management;
- Conceptual topologies and models for energy storage systems;
- Development of a management system for storage devices;
- Stochastic optimization algorithms;
- Optimal trading strategies based on game theory;
Procedures and reports on testing trading models on the energy market.

- Work schedule: part-time (up to 140 hours/month, flexible), or full-time (40 hours/week), based on candidate availability;
- Salary: in accordance with the project budget and applicable legal provisions;
Duration of employment: fixed-term, from the date of contract signing until 30.06.2026.

Specific Requirements
- Possession of a PhD degree (obtained after September 2017) in one of the following fields: electrical engineering, energy engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, automation, or related areas. The PhD degree must have been awarded no more than 8 years before the application deadline.
- Previous experience in research activities or in modeling and simulation of energy systems is an asset;
- Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink);
- Relevant scientific publications in the field;
- Proficiency in Romanian;
- Advanced English language skills.
- Important: Successful international applicants who do not have a Romanian Personal Numeric Code (CNP) must register with the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) in Romania to obtain a Tax Identification Number (NIF), which is required for the calculation and withholding of salary-related legal contributions.

Eligibility criteria
- Draft and submit for publication scientific articles, including in indexed international journals (Q1/Q2), related to the project's research topic;
- The number of scientific articles (including Q1/Q2 publications) committed by the candidate for the contractual period will represent a ranking criterion during the selection process.

- Appeals against file selection: 07.08.2025;
- Interview: 13.08.2025, 14:00, at Constanța Maritime University or online (via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, etc.), depending on candidate preference and organizational conditions;
- Interview results posted: 14.08.2025, at 16:30;
- Appeals may be submitted within one working day from the date of result publication for each stage.
Competition Stages:
- File Evaluation (eliminatory);
- Interview.
Minimum score per stage: 7.
Final score calculation: arithmetic mean of the two scores.
Candidate ranking: based on final average score.
